I've spent 11+ years engineering software, quite often involving the construction of dynamic web sites. I tend to prefer LAMP stacks as they are inexpensive to make while providing the power of dynamic interfacing and relational database access, but I have built sites using ASP, IIS and Microsoft SQL Server. I have extensive experience in building online art galleries, task management sites, online stores, online databases, SOAP Web Services, and graphics intensive sites.

Fees

I generally charge $75 per hour. Listed below are some of the sites that I built along with how many hours they took. My hourly fee includes the following:

• Static Pages These are your basic web pages that have no moving parts. They just present text and graphics.
• Database Enabled Pages These are pages that present data drawn from an online database
• User Input Pages These pages can accept user input and act upon it in some way, such as presenting requested information or storing user input in a database
• Online Database Construction/Maintenance An online database is what enables sites to accept, store, and present dynamic data.
• Affiliate Marketing Want your site to possibly make a few extra bucks? I can help you out by finding advertisements to put on you site that will make money when visitors click on them then buy products from the advertised site.

There are a few additional services that I offer for additional fees:

• Hosting - $500/year Building a web site and actually making it available on the Internet are two different things. My hourly fee includes only construction. In order to have you site show up on the Web, you need to have it hosted. If you don't want to deal with the hassle of dealing with a hosting service, I can do it for you. This includes the registration fees for your site's domain name (the .com, .org, .net, etc. name).
• Electronic Payments - $8,000 This will enable your site to accept credit cards. It includes adding a shopping cart and checkout system to your site that will interface with your merchant account. It does not include establishment of a merchant account with a bank, which you must handle yourself.
• Electronic Payments Via PayPal - $2,000 This will enable your site to accept credit cards. It includes adding a shopping cart and checkout system to your site and does not require you to obtain a merchant account. However, you do need to setup a business account at PayPal (which is relatively easy and free). Though PayPal will charge you a fee for every transaction.
